Pakistan Has Highest Ever IT Exports in 10 Months

In comparison to the $1.7 billion sent out during the same period in 2020-21, Information Technology (IT) export remittances, which include telecommunications, computer, and information services, hit an all-time high of $2.198 billion from July 2021 to April 2022.

According to data from the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunications, ICT send out settlements were $259 million in March 2022, representing a growth rate of 23.92 percent over the $209 million declared in March 2021. They were also $58 million higher than the previous month’s trade settlements of $201 million in February 2022. Net production for the fiscal year 2021-22 were $1.472 billion, or 75.56 percent of the total $1.948 billion in ICT trades. Last year, for a comparable time, net goods were $1.126 billion, or 74.72 percent of $1.507 billion in sends out.

Under the prime minister’s “Digital Pakistan” vision, the PSEB must adopt all possible means to reach the objective of IT export remittances established by the Federal Minister for IT and Telecommunications, Syed Amin ul Haq. He stressed the need of moving forward on all information technology concerns and connecting the country’s youth, particularly students, to the internet.
