Google and The Gaming Growth Lab in Pakistan

Google has taken three further measures to reinforce its support for Pakistan’s gaming sector. Initial, its Gaming Growth Lab in Pakistan, has entered its second phase, in which participants from 57 chosen firms will receive 1:1 assistance and coaching from Google specialists to help them build on the program’s first phase and take their businesses to the next level. In addition, Google will hold Pakistan’s first Think Games Pakistan event in June and release the first edition of its “Google for Games” Pakistan newsletter.

In the second phase of GGL, these 57 participating firms will embark on an 8-week virtual assistance programme aimed at identifying and addressing business difficulties as well as extending their products. Selected applicants will also be able to learn more about game creation and growth by attending coaching sessions provided by Google specialists on areas such as Google Play, Google Cloud, measurement, and export.

Google has launched its Gaming Growth Lab in Pakistan with the aim of making Pakistan a global gaming powerhouse. The initiative aims to help the country’s gaming community unlock its digital opportunity. Google’s regional director for Pakistan, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka, Farhan Qureshi said: “I’m excited to see the progress made”.

Participants who complete both stages of the GGL programme will graduate in June and will be eligible for extra perks such as preferential access to future Google gaming projects and networking events in Pakistan, as well as business growth help from the Google team.

On June 21-22, Google will hold Think Games Pakistan for the first time. This two-day virtual event, which will become Google’s premier gaming community event in Pakistan, will bring together Pakistan’s gaming community, specialists, and thought leaders. It will include the most recent gaming insights and statistics, as well as tools and solutions to assist game creators make better games and flourish on a worldwide scale.

Google also recently launched its first ‘Google for Games’ Pakistan newsletter, a quarterly edition of the most recent gaming news and insights tailored specifically to the needs of gaming developers in Pakistan.
